Advocacy

We conduct advocacy for a competitive Finland that encourages growth, investment and employment.

Finland’s future success will be decided by success in the key policy areas that can elevate Finland to become the most competitive country in the world. Knowledge, functional infrastructure, a competitive economy and sustainable public finances play a key role in building a competitive Finland. Moreover, our permanent agenda is to open up society and competition in the marketplace, streamline regulation and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy.

A dynamic and competitive economy is created when taxation is supportive, working is always worthwhile, the labour market works, and regulation is smooth. The key is predictability and legislation that encourages growth, private investment and employment.

It is self-evident that at the heart of competitiveness is responsible, sustainable growth. Climate change must be tackled or else everything else is pointless.

A competitive economy is created when taxation is supportive, working is worthwhile, the labour market works, and regulation is smooth.

Effectiveness is the goal

The goal of our what we do is effectiveness. The Central Chamber of Commerce creates a decision-making agenda and proposes solutions to societal and business problems. The Chambers of Commerce operate as a network and cooperate with various actors and policymakers locally, nationwide, at the European level and globally.

We conduct advocacy for pending and planned legislation, both in Finland and at the EU level. The Central Chamber of Commerce provides information and solutions to policymakers, participates in working groups, issues opinions on draft legislation, and participates in the public debate.

The member companies of the Chambers of Commerce are at the core of this advocacy work . We provide companies with information on legislation and developments affecting their operating environment and raise the voice of companies in the preparation of legislation and policymaking.

The Central Chamber of Commerce raises the voice of companies in policymaking.

To support companies and policymakers, we publish 30 reviews, solutions, analyses and surveys of current issues each year.

Our advocacy work is supported by eight committees of representatives of member companies in the Central Chamber of Commerce.

We produce more than 100 opinions each year with which we influence legislation.

The Central Chamber of Commerce’s advocacy work features a Grand Event, bringing together representatives, policymakers and experts from business and the media.

We also organise a variety of topical training sessions and webinars for businesses.
